DESCRIPTION
BMA were instructed to carry out external enabling works to facilitate scaffold erection and cladding replacement. This included the careful removal, storage and reinstatement of Sheffield-style cycle stands, 1800mm-high metal railings and estate signage. Paving slabs and pedestal supports were lifted, securely stored and reinstated on completion, with a provisional allowance included for replacement of any damaged slabs.
Further variations were instructed to extend the scope to additional courtyard areas, including removal, transportation, secure storage and reinstatement of approximately 160 linear metres of metal railings. Storage costs were allowed for the duration of the project to ensure the railings were protected and available for reinstallation once façade works were completed.
