Mechanical & Electrical Refurbishment Programme
As part of a major void-refurbishment programme, BMA were appointed to undertake the full mechanical and electrical remediation and renewal works to a large number of severely deteriorated and non-compliant properties. Many homes presented with historic defects, unsafe installations and damage caused by prolonged neglect, all of which required careful strip-out, redesign and reinstatement.
Our scope included new electrical installations and remedial works, replacement accessories, compliance upgrades, rewires where required, commissioning and certification — together with plumbing renewals, hot and cold water services, sanitary connections and drainage repairs. All works were delivered to current housing-compliance standards and coordinated closely with the internal refurbishment programme.
A major success of the project was the programme discipline — each property, despite its poor starting condition, was fully refurbished and handed back within a tight 28-day turnaround, allowing Sanctuary Housing to safely and efficiently return homes to residents.
